How do people use CBD oil?

People are using CBD oil for its potential therapeutic benefits. Cannabidiol oil and its other products are becoming famous over time because they are convenient and safe to use and easily available. In this blog, you will know how people are using it for a better lifestyle.

Knowing CBD

CBD, or cannabidiol, is one of the 113 cannabinoids found in a cannabis plant. It’s often assumed that CBD consumption could get a consumer “high,” since both CBD and tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) come from the cannabis plant. However, it is only the presence of a high THC, which has a psychoactive nature, that causes a high. CBD from hemp has less than 0.3% THC, making it non-psychoactive and doesn’t make consumers euphoric.

What is CBD oil?

Cannabidiol oil is a mixture of CBD extract and other carrier oils, including coconut, olive, or hemp oil. It is often characterized as a therapeutic product. There is a variety of CBD oil products available that you can use according to your needs. In this blog, you will learn about it in detail.

Types of CBD oil

There are three main types of cannabidiol oil available:

CBD isolate

CBD isolate solely contains CBD with no other cannabinoids of the cannabis plant. People who prefer to consume CBD product that does not contain any other cannabinoids are recommended to use CBD isolates. This product is manufactured after a lot of processing to isolate a single cannabinoid; so, it is less potent than other forms of it.

Broad spectrum CBD oil

Broad spectrum CBD oil contains 112 out of 113 cannabinoids of the CBD plant except for THC. This type of cannabidiol oil is best for people who want to experience a bit higher potency of it than isolates with no consumption of THC at all.

Full spectrum CBD oil

Full spectrum CBD oil is the richest of all the types of it. The presence of all 113 cannabinoids and other compounds like terpenes and flavonoids of the cannabis plants makes it the most ideal. It is known to develop an entourage effect that means all the cannabinoids and compounds work simultaneously while complimenting each other’s effects. This combination of the components provides more effectiveness to the user. Full spectrum CBD oil contains not more than 0.3% THC making it non-psychoactive while enhancing CBD’s effects at the same time.

Ways to use CBD oil

Here are a few ways you may benefit from cannabidiol oil:

Through edibles

One of the most convenient and effective methods to use CBD oil is digesting it through edibles. You can prepare food using it or add a few drops to your food. The digestive method takes up to four hours to show its high effectiveness. Several restaurants in the US are now offering cannabidiol oil-infused food.

Topical method

In the topical method, CBD oil is directly applied over the skin or the affected area. It’s a safe method as it oil does not enter the bloodstream. As a result, you can conveniently apply it whenever it is required without bothering about the dosage.

In this method, a few drops of CBD oil are dropped under the tongue, held in the mouth, and then swallowed. The mucous glands present under the tongue diffuse it into the blood while CBD oil is in the mouth. This method is convenient and usually found in the form of tincture bottles.

CBD vapes and E-cigarettes

Vapes and e-cigarettes are very popular to experience the rapid effectiveness of CBD oil. When CBD is inhaled, it instantly gets into the bloodstream through respiration. This inhaling method cannot be claimed as safe as other methods since its frequency may cause lung damage.

Benefits of CBD oil

As per research, CBD oil may provide the following health benefits:

  • Natural Painkiller: CBD may be able to help relieve several chronic pains.

        What Is CBD?

CBDalso referred to as cannabidiol, is in-demand and successful due to its multiple potential health benefits. CBD is a popular natural remedy used to support many different conditions. It is one of over 100 chemical compounds characterized as cannabinoids found in the cannabis or marijuana plants. The main psychoactive cannabinoid found in cannabis is tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which causes a “high” feeling that is sometimes correlated with marijuana. CBD is not psychoactive, unlike THCCBD has been credited to help treat epilepsyinsomniaacneAHDHanxiety, and chronic pain.

        What Is Hemp?

Hemp is a part of the cannabis plant, and it is worthwhile. Hemp is a natural, sweet-smelling, stout, and undergrowth herb. It is one of the fastest-growing plants and was rolled for the first time around 50,000 years ago to make fiber. Industrial hemp belongs to the Cannabis family of plants. Many people confuse hemp with the other cannabis plants that are the primary sources of hashish and marijuana. Hemp is a bit different; it contains trace amount of THC and high concentrations of CBD. Therefore, we can say hemp is the primary source for making CBD based products. Hemp can be used to manufacture paints and varnishes, food and beverages, bioplastics, fiber, and proteins. You can eat raw hemp or even sprinkle on your smoothies and salads.

        Hemp vs Marijuana

Hemp and marijuana almost look similar in structure. The key difference between hemp and marijuana is only due to the THC compound present in it. Marijuana contains a high amount of THC and is responsible for mind-altering effects. Meanwhile, hemp comprises little to no amount of THC, making it non-psychoactive and promoting more CBD health benefits. Hemp contains less than 0.3% THC, and is federally legal in all the states, while marijuana has almost 30% THC, which makes it psychoactive and will intoxicate the user.

Mostly, people think that hemp seed oil is exactly the same as CBD oil. But in reality, both the products are diverse from each other. CBD oil is extracted from the cannabis plant and then diluted with the other base oil like coconut, olive, and MCT oil. On the other hand, the hemp seed oil is obtained directly from the seeds of the cannabis sativa family. CBD oil uses hemp plant ingredients in its manufacturing, such as stems, flowers, and leaves. While, hemp seed oil doesn’t contain CBD, but they have a rich profile of fatty acids, nutrients, and other essential bio-active compounds.

What is CBD oil and how is it made?

Manufacturers make CBD oil by extracting CBD from hemp and adding the extract into a carrier oil, which usually includes hemp seed oil, coconut oil, olive oil, or MCT oil. There are many methods for extracting CBD and making CBD oil, but carbon dioxide (CO2) extraction is the most popular one. In CO2 extraction, manufacturers pump CO2 into a chamber containing hemp material. Due to high pressure, the CO2 absorbs the flavors and oils of the plant matter. Then the mixture of CO2 and plant matter is transferred into a different chamber where CO2 returns to its gaseous state, only leaving flavors and oil behind. Other extraction methods include oil infusion and liquid solvents.

                What makes CBD oil pure?

When it comes to CBD oil, the term pure can have two different meanings. When a person says pure CBD oil, they may be referring to any type of CBD oil that doesnt contain harmful elements and doesnt contain any contaminants. Other people use pure CBD oil to define CBD isolate oil. CBD isolate oil doesnt contain the other cannabinoids and components of the cannabis plant and contains 99% pure CBD isolate extract. So, depending on the context, pure CBD oil means that it is free of contaminants or it belongs to the isolate category.

Different ways to use CBD oil

The main reason behind the popularity of CBD oil is that you can use it in almost any way you want.

The sublingual method of using CBD oil is one of the most popular methods of using CBD oil. In this method, you put a few drops of CBD oil under your tongue, hold them in your mouth for one or two minutes and then swallow. The mucous membrane quickly absorbs the CBD oil and enables the CBD to reach the endocannabinoid system more easily.

                Topical application

In the topical application of CBD oil, you apply CBD oil directly to your skin or the problem area. CBD oil’s topical application is considered the safest method of using CBD oil because the CBD doesn’t enter your bloodstream. People using CBD oil for pain relief and to reduce inflammation often prefer this method as they can directly apply it to the target area.

Ingesting CBD oil is another effective method of using CBD oil. You can consume capsules containing CBD oil, make food using CBD oil, or add CBD oil to your food. This method provides longlasting results; however, the effects of CBD oil may take a while to kick-in, somewhere between 30 minutes to 4 hours. So, dont consume more after taking the first dose and allow the CBD oil to produce its effects.

Inhaling CBD oil is the fastestacting method of using CBD oil; however, it may not be the safest. Experts are linking smoking and vaping with lung injury and are recommending not to use vapes and e-cigarettes. So, use this method at your own discretion after doing proper research about the legality and risks of using vapes and e-cigarettes.

                Uses of CBD oil?

You can use CBD oil for the following purposes:

                May relieve pain

CBD oil may effectively relieve pain by interacting with the brain receptors. Due to this interaction, CBD has the potential to effectively relieve multiple types of pain, including chronic, injury, muscle, arthritis, and MS.

                May reduce seizure frequency

According to a study, CBD, along with the traditional epilepsy treatment, may reduce the frequency of seizures by 36.5%. The Food and Drug Administration has already approved a CBD-based medicine to treat two rare and severe forms of epilepsy.

                May relieve anxiety

One of the most popular uses of CBD oil is to relieve feelings of anxiousness. According to research, CBD could increase serotonin levels by interacting with the serotonin receptors. The increase in serotonin levels results in a potential better mood and reduced anxiety. Another study suggests that a single dose of CBD may significantly reduce anxiety levels when compared to a placebo.

                May prevent acne

Our body produces an oily substance called sebum to moisturize itself, but acne outbreaks can occur due to sebum’s overproduction. According to a studyCBD interacts with the sebaceous glands and regulates sebum production, which in turn may prevent acne. Acne can also occur due to inflammation, and data suggest that CBD has amazing anti-inflammatory properties.

May protect the brain and nerves

Researchers believe that CBD may interact with the CB1 receptor in the brain and may provide neuroprotection to patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.

                Side effects of CBD oil

Health experts suggest that CBD is safe to consume and doesnt have a risk of addiction. So pure CBD oil that is free of toxins is also safe to consume; however, people with sensitive metabolism may experience a few side effects. These side effects may include:

                • Dizziness
                • Diarrhea
                • Changes in weight and appetite

                The legality of CBD oil

Hempderived CBD oil containing less than 0.3% THC is federally legal in the United States under the Farm Bill of 2018. Pure CBD oil is legally available, and you can easily buy it online or from your nearest health food store. But it is illegal in some states.

Pure CBD oil means isolate CBD oil or CBD oil that is free of toxins and contaminants. Before using CBD oil, be sure to consult with a healthcare professional and always buy products that are approved by an independent lab.

Is it worth it to buy CBD oil?

If you’re new to cannabidiol (CBD) oil, it may feel like it’s just another passing fad. Everyone is super into now, because a Kardashian got everyone all excited, but in a year or so it’ll be overlooked because of some new health trend. As a result, you’re probably thinking that CBD oil isn’t even worth trying, because the fad is all going to be over with sometime soon. But we would disagree. That is because CBD oil is a pretty incredible product. CBD itself offers many potential benefits. When it is made into an oil, those potential benefits are easy to access because the oils are easy and convenient to use. So, we really think that CBD oil is worth buying. But what is the proof to all of this, the evidence to back up our wholehearted endorsement? Let’s dive in and find out.

                What is CBD oil?

Let’s start with talking about what CBD oil even is. Afterall, how can you understand the fervor behind a product if you don’t even understand what that product is? So, let’s get into it.

There is a pretty amazing group of chemical compounds that are found in cannabis plants. They are called cannabinoids. Their amazingness comes from the fact that they interact with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). That is a group of receptors that are spread throughout the body. They control a number of different functions including appetite and memory. CBD, if you haven’t guessed by now, is one of these cannabinoids. It’s interactions with the ECS are what researchers attribute its potential benefits to. There is another cannabinoid that has a different and more famous effect on the ECS.

Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) is a cannabinoid that is incredibly famous for its effects. It creates a psychoactive high. It is the cannabinoid that gives cannabis a bit of an infamous reputation (whether it deserves it or not). It is because of THC that many people are wary of CBD. They think that all cannabinoids have this psychoactive effect. However, that is a rather flawed way of thinking. CBD doesn’t have an effect like that. It is not psychoactive.

Not all cannabis plants have enough THC to cause a high. This fact is rather contrary to what many people think when they hear anything about cannabis. However, it is still a fact. For example, hemp has only 0.3% THC. This level is too low to cause any sort of high. This is why hemp is federally legal in the United States (it should be noted that “federally legal” doesn’t mean legal in every state, it means that it is possible for it to be legal in every state. Hemp is still illegal in some states). Hemp also has high levels of CBD, so it is a perfect cannabis variation for use by CBD manufacturers in making their products. This is all pretty different from marijuana, which has very, very high levels of THC. As a result, it does cause a high and is not federally legal (but it is legal in a few states).

CBD oil is one of the most common and popular CBD products you can find. It is CBD extract that has been mixed with some sort of carrier oil. The carrier oil is usually some kind of inert essential oil. They tend to be things like coconut and avocado oil. Some CBD oils have other essential oils in them to help with flavor or to help give a little boost to the oil. But other than that, they are pretty simple. Just CBD in some oil.

If they are so simple, why are they so popular?

                What’s so great about it?

Let’s start by talk about the benefits that CBD in general may offer, then we’ll get into what is going on with CBD oils.

Research on CBD has been focused on many different things, but one of the main ones is how it may affect your state of mind. That is, how it may be able to help with your mental health. For example, this study found that CBD was helpful for a child who had PTSD and struggled with sleeping. The researchers found that CBD helped her sleep better and handle her anxiety more efficiently. This is just one study of the many that have been looking at CBD and anxiety. Most of those studies have been very encouraging.

Another popular area of study connected to CBD is how it may affect inflammation. Inflammation is the culprit behind a number of different conditions and can cause some major complications in people’s lives. So, it is understandable why researchers are looking for solutions pretty much everywhere. Luckily, CBD has been showing promise in how it affects inflammation. For example, this study found that CBD could be helpful in decreasing inflammation caused by oxidative stress.

Now that we’ve covered some of the potential benefits of CBD, you’re probably wondering why so many people prefer CBD oils over other CBD products. One reason why people love them so much is that they are versatile. Most CBD products have one set way that you can take them, which feels a little constricting. CBD oils can be taken in a few different ways. The most direct way is by putting the drops directly in your mouth. This is faster as the skin under your tongue is thin and will allow for the CBD to absorb into the bloodstream much more easily. You can also mix the oils in with food and drink, making your own edibles. This way is a bit slower as you need to wait for the food to digest before the CBD can enter the bloodstream. Some people even use the oils as a kind of topical, rubbing the oil directly onto their skin. In all reality, there isn’t many wrong ways to use a CBD oil.

So, are CBD oils worth buying? We think so. But the only way you can find out for yourself is by giving some a try. So, why not check out Nature Blends fantastic line of all-natural CBD products to give some a shot?

What is full spectrum CBD oil?

Good things come in all shapes and sizes and so does cannabidiol (CBD) oil. It comes in three different forms, the most popular being full spectrum CBD oil and in this blog, well tell you all about it.

What is full spectrum CBD oil?

Full spectrum CBD oil, sometimes referred to as hemp oil, contains all the 113 cannabinoids of the cannabis plant, including THC. The percentage of THC in it is around 0.3%, which isnt enough to create the feeling of intoxication, but it is enough to enhance the effects of it and other cannabinoids present within the oil. In it, all the cannabinoids work together and create something called the entourage effect, which in simpler terms, means that it is more effective than other types.

Why choose full spectrum CBD oil?

There are many reasons to choose it over other types; a few of those reasons are listed below:

                It is all-natural

As mentioned earlier, full spectrum CBD oil contains all the cannabinoids of the cannabis plant, which means that the plant doesnt go through vigorous processing in order to extract one or two cannabinoids. A majority of it producers try to keep the process as natural as possible and avoid using synthetic chemicals and harmful elements. During the cultivation process of the plants, growers also avoid using chemicals and pesticides; thats why you should choose it if you are looking for an all-natural product.

                It is sustainable

It provides prolonged effects than other types and is considered to be a more effective alternative treatment for various illnesses. The combination of all the cannabinoids in it work as a single unit, increasing each others effects; thats why it is a more sustainable option for people using it as an alternative treatment.

                It is bountiful

Apart from all the cannabinoids of the cannabis plant, it also contains beneficial compounds of the cannabis plant, including fatty acids. These compounds are highly beneficial for both animals and humans and provide a ton of health benefits when used appropriately.

                It doesn’t get you high

As mentioned earlier, it does contain THC; however, the THC levels are so low that it cant intoxicate the user or impart that feeling of high often associated with THC and marijuana. If you want to experience the benefits of THC but dont want to get high, then choose full spectrum CBD oil.

                It is easy to find

Hempderived oil containing less than 0.3% THC is legal in most of the 50 states of the United States; hence it is very easy to find. You can be in any state of the country and can easily get your hands on a high-quality oil. You may not even need a prescription to buy it in the United States.

What are the health benefits of full spectrum CBD oil?

It is considered to provide a ton of benefits to users, few of which are listed below:

                Natural Potential Pain-Relief Treatment

Pain is a common symptom of a lot of diseases, and doctors often prescribe pain relievers to treat it; however, pain medications have a risk of addiction. Many people avoid using painrelieving medications due to the health risks associated with it and try to find effective alternative painrelieving methods. If you are one of those people and want to treat pain effectively, then try full spectrum CBD oil. Full spectrum CBD oil may help relieve pain, but it may also reduce inflammation and body stiffness without causing any dangerous side effects. According to a study, after using full spectrum CBD oil, users experience a reduction in the intensity of pain. The same study concluded that full spectrum CBD oil is also effective for reducing inflammation without causing any harmful side effects.

                May Help with Quitting Smoking

Smoking is becoming a taboo in society because people are becoming more aware of the risks attached to it, but quitting smoking isnt easy. People struggle a lot in order to find an effective method of quitting smoking, and according to a studyfull spectrum CBD oil may be one of them. The study suggests that people using an inhaler containing CBD are more likely to reduce or quit smoking. People get hooked on cigarettes due to nicotine addiction and CBD may be able to help people fight it.

                May Help Support Mental Health

There are several studies suggesting that full spectrum CBD oil is effective for supporting mental health and treating multiple mental disorders, including addiction, anxiety, and depression. CBD relaxes your brain by stimulating the serotonin receptors, and by regularly using full spectrum CBD oil, you may be able to combat those illnesses.

                May Help Treat Neurological Conditions

According to datafull spectrum CBD oil and other full spectrum products may be effective for helping enhancthe treatment of multiple neurological conditions, including Alzheimers and Parkinsons. There are several studies on the internet published by reputable journals that support the use of full spectrum CBD oil for helping treat the symptoms of neurological disorders. These studies also suggest that using full spectrum CBD, along with prescription medication, provides better outcomes.

What are the side effects of full spectrum CBD oil?

Health experts suggest that it is generally safe for consumption and doesncause any harmful side effectsThere are a few instances, however, in which a user may experience the side effects of it. These side effects can occur if the person is using lowquality CBD oil containing harmful elements or higher levels of THC. These side effects may also occur if you use too much CBD oil or your metabolism is unable to process it. Here are a few side effects that it may cause:

                • Digestive issues
                • Dizziness and drowsiness
                • Loss of appetite and weight

Is full spectrum CBD oil legal in the US?

Hemp-derived CBD oil containing around 0.3% THC is legal in most of the 50 states of the United States. Marijuana-derived CBD containing higher THC level, however, is an entirely different story. Marijuanaderived CBD oil containing higher levels of THC is legal in those states where marijuana is legal for both recreational and medicinal use; you may not even need a prescription to buy it. Marijuanaderived full spectrum CBD oil is legal for medicinal use in those states where medicinal use of marijuana is legal, but you do need a prescription to buy it. States where both recreational and medicinal use of marijuana is illegal, residents cant legally use or buy marijuanaderived full spectrum CBD oil containing higher THC levels even if they have a prescription. Before choosing full spectrum CBD oil, be sure to research its legality in your state.

How to properly dose CBD oil?

There is no definitive guide for dosing it because the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) doesnt regulate it and because it works differently for everyone. A dose that may work for your friend may not work for you, so you need to determine the dosage yourself. If you are using it on a doctors prescription, then stick to the prescribed dosage and dont change it without consulting the doctor. If you are using it without a prescription, then start with the lowest possible dose and increase it on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. For instance, start taking full it by consuming five drops per day. If you think that it is providing relief, then stick to that dosage. If you think the dosage is inadequate, then increase it, and continue using the increased dosage for a week or two. Continue this method until you find the dosage that suits you best.

Full spectrum CBD oil may provide a ton of benefits to the user, but it doesnt mean that you should consume it willy-nilly. Be sure to consult with a healthcare professional to learn about the side effects and risks of using it; the doctor can also tell you if it will react negatively with the medications you may be taking. Furthermore, only buy independent lab-tested full spectrum CBD oil to make sure that it doesn’t contain any harmful elements.

Is hemp oil different from CBD oil?

When dealing with cannabidiol (CBD), it feels like there are million terms and concepts to learn about. One common area of confusion is surrounding the connection between hemp oil and CBD oil. This is understandable as some people use the terms interchangeably, while others insist that there is a difference. We here at Nature Blend can tell you that both groups are right. Kind of.

But before we can explain that we should cover the basics.

                What is CBD oil?

It is best to have a basic understanding of CBD to base your understanding of hemp oil on. So, let’s talk CBD.

CBD is a cannabinoid. This is a kind of chemical compound that is found in high numbers in cannabis plants. Cannabinoids are not your average compound. They interact with certain receptors found throughout the body called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). This system is responsible for helping maintain a number of different functions in the body. This interaction between cannabinoids and the ECS is why cannabis is so famous for having an effect on its users. However, there is one particular effect that is unfairly associated with all things cannabis. That effect is a psychoactive high.

There is a cannabinoid that causes the high that people associate with cannabis. That cannabinoid would be tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It is the main psychoactive competent of cannabis. However, this does not stop people from incorrectly believing that CBD causes a high. Let’s clear that up right now. It does not cause any high or psychoactive effects. People also think that all kinds of cannabis will cause a high. This is also incorrect. There are a couple of different variations of cannabis. One of them, marijuana, has a lot of THC and does cause a high. The other, hemp, has only 0.3% THC and a lot of CBD. It does not cause a high as its THC level is not nearly high enough to have an effect. This, and the high concentration, is why hemp is used to make CBD products.

Speaking of CBD products, let’s get into some detail about CBD oil. It is CBD extract that has been mixed with a carrier oil. These carriers are usually some kind of inert essential oil, like coconut or avocado oil. It is definitely one of the more basic CBD products out there. They normal consist of just the above-mentioned ingredients. Some CBD oils have other essential oils to help with flavor or to give the oil a little bit of boost. It can be taken in a few different ways. One of the main one is by mixing it in with food or drink. You can also take it directly via your mouth, as most CBD oil bottles come with a dropper that makes dispensing the oil simple. There are even people who rub the oil on their skin or mix it in with lotion to create a CBD topical.

No matter how you take a CBD oil, it appears to offer some really impressive potential benefits. For example, some research suggest that CBD could be useful in helping deal with anxiety. Other studies have found that CBD may have anti-inflammatory properties that could help with any number of conditions. Clearly, there is a good reason for CBD oil’s popularity. The only way to know what CBD may do for you is by giving the cannabinoid a try.

Now that we’ve got all of that defined, it’s time to shift focus onto the main purpose of this blog.

Is it different from hemp oil?

The answer to this is yes and no. But it is not as complicated as it seems.

CBD extract comes in three different forms. Each form is defined by what cannabinoids and compounds are found in the extract, because CBD tends to bring friends when it is taken out of the hemp plant. The form of CBD extract that is in essence the “purest” is full spectrum CBD. It has all of the cannabinoids and compounds that may come with the CBD (including THC, but, as we know, it is not enough to cause a high). Full spectrum CBD is considered the purest because there is less done to it. Unlike other forms of CBD extract, there is no extra filtering process to go through. This kind of CBD extract, when mixed with a carrier oil, is considered hemp oil. This is because it has more of the hemp plant to it than any other form of CBD oil. So, when it comes to full spectrum CBD, the term hemp oil can be used interchangeably with CBD oil. But not so much with the other forms.

The two other main forms of CBD extract are broad spectrum and CBD isolate. Broad spectrum has a majority of the other cannabinoids and compounds with one exception; it has no THC. The reason that people seek out full and broad spectrums is that these compounds may provide the entourage effect. This is when compounds use each other to build up a stronger effect. Broad spectrum may help provide that without the concern over THC. CBD isolate is just CBD, with no other compounds or cannabinoids. CBD isolate’s effect may not be a strong as the effects of the other extracts, but its effect is likely to be clearer.

So, is hemp oil different from CBD oil? It really breaks down to this hemp oil is CBD oil, but not all CBD oil is hemp oil. It is also a good to know that hemp oil and hemp seed oil are two different things. Hemp seed oil is made just from the seed of the hemp plant, while hemp oil is made from the flower and leaves. Hemp oil is more likely to help provide you with the benefits of CBD, as it has a lot of the cannabinoid. Hemp seed oil does not have CBD in it and offers very little to its users. So, beware when shopping for hemp oil that it is actually hemp oil and not hemp seed oil.

                CBD Oil: the new fad

When it comes to the health and wellness industry there are many different fads that come around. Some are popular for a small amount of time while others thrive for centuries. So, which one will cannabidiol (CBD) oil follow? We here at Nature Blend think and have seen that CBD is here to stay. Sure, we may be a bit biased, but this article will explain why CBD is the new fad that will stick around.  But we are getting ahead of ourselves. We’ll start at the root of the subject. What is CBD?

                What is CBD?

CBD is one the 113 cannabinoids found in the Cannabis sativa plants. The Cannabis sativa plant is a naturally found plant. This plant comes in a few different variations you may or may not be familiar with. The more popular of variations is the marijuana plant. This is because marijuana is more well-known for its psychoactive effects. Why does the marijuana plant get users ‘high’? This is because of another cannabinoid found in the Cannabis sativa plants, THC. THC is found in all Cannabis sativa plants but has different percentages. The THC found in the marijuana plant is much higher than in the hemp plant. The hemp plant is another variety of the Cannabis sativa plant. The hemp plant has lower amounts of THC and therefore has become federally legal since 2018 because of the Farm Bill. CBD is the non-psychoactive component found in all variations of the Cannabis sativa plant. CBD products must have at or less than 0.3% of THC to be deemed a CBD product. No, CBD cannot get you high and the products made from the hemp plant are legal! So, what is CBD oil?

                What is CBD oil?

CBD oil is a type of CBD product. This particular CBD product is quite popular because of the ways that it can be used.  How is CBD oil processed? This processing method is called extraction. There are many different types of extraction processes. The following are three popular ones to keep in mind as you look at different companies.

Carbon Dioxide Extraction: Carbon dioxide is used to extract the CBD from the plant by using “supercritical” which, in simple terms means, using both carbon dioxide liquid and gas properties to extract. This is why carbon dioxide extraction is often known as Supercritical Fluid Extraction (SFE). In the beginning of the extraction, two different pressurized chambers are used. One, with the carbon dioxide, while the other contains the hemp plant. Then the chamber filled with carbon dioxide is pumped into the second chamber containing the hemp, where it breaks down the hemp plant and separates it from the CBD oil. The mixture is then pumped into a third chamber where the carbon dioxide is evaporated, leaving the CBD oil unaccompanied.

Steam Distillation: In this process, the steam separates the CBD oil from the plant itself. The hemp is placed in a separate container while a boiler is full of water beneath the hemp. Once boiling, the steam from the water travels upward to extract the CBD oil vapors from the hemp plant. The vapor from the plant is then trapped in a tube and added to oil or water. After this is collected, the oil is extracted from the water to make an oil. This process works well but requires a lot of the hemp plant and if the steam gets too hot it may damage the CBD oil extract.

Solvent Extraction (Hydrocarbons and Natural Solvents): This process is similar to the Steam Distillation extraction method. But, in this process one would use a type of solvent rather than water. The solvent and CBD oil are combined and then the solvent is extracted leaving the CBD behind. There are two types of solvents used: hydrocarbons and natural solvents. This is the least preferred type of extraction because it has been found to leave unwanted elements after the solvents have been extracted. What other products are there?

Besides CBD oil, (which, by the way, is often called a tincture) what products are there that are made with CBD? Here is a list of popular CBD products.

                • Tablets: This type of CBD is very easy to use. You just place it in your mouth, let it dissolve and you are done! After being dissolved the CBD reaches the bloodstream through the mouth. This is a very quick way to get CBD into your bloodstream.
                • Topicals: A CBD topical is a type of CBD that does not get into the bloodstream as it comes in forms of salves, lotions, creams, etc. These are used to improve the skin. To use a topical to its full benefits, make sure to use it often and in the same area.
                • Vapes: Vapes are CBD oil in a vapor form. Once inhaled the CBD is absorbed into the bloodstream from the lungs.
                • Softgels: Softgel CBD is a great way to get CBD into your routine. Our soft capsules are taken like any type of pill. Swallow and go! The capsule is full of CBD. Once it reaches the stomach through the digestive tract it breaks down and is absorbed into the bloodstream from the stomach. These take a bit longer to feel but, some have described to last a bit longer.
                • Edibles: Edibles and Softgels are similar but a bit different. So, instead of swallowing a capsule, edibles come in a variety of different yummy types. We sell cherry flavored gummies. Like softgels, after swallowing the edible breaks down in the stomach and the CBD is absorbed from there.

Is CBD Oil a fad that will fade or is it here to stay? You know what we think, but what do you think? Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have regarding our CBD or our extraction process. CBD? Yes!
