For pet owners, CBD may be a godsend for their cats, dogs, and horses. If you are like many other owners and want to ensure that your furry friend is living their best possible life, then you are probably looking for ways to relieve some of their pain or anxiety. We want the same thing that you do, and that is why we offer pet relief CBD, or cannabidiol.
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is one of over 400 chemical compounds that are found within cannabis plants. Additionally, CBD is one of 113 cannabinoids found in these plants. Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is another well known cannabinoid that is found in high concentrations in marijuana and produces the “high” effect since it is psycho-active. CBD, on the other hand, is not. CBD is able to promote a sense of calm, reduce anxiety, and generally reduce stress, among a host of other benefits.
Just like in humans, CBD for animals may be able to reduce anxiety, pain and inflammation, and seizures.
Dogs in particular, are susceptible to experiencing anxiety, especially when their owner is not home. If you are worried about them and want to ensure that they can remain calm even when you are out of the house, then CBD may be the solution for you. Pet relief CBD has been found, through studies, found that CBD was a potential treatment for a range of disorders related to anxiety. Humans and some animals, particularly dogs, share the system that is responsible for breaking down CBD and other cannabinoids. This means that not only can CBD relieve stress in humans, it may very well also be a pet relief CBD.
Animals experience inflammation and pain because of it just like we do. Older animals in particular are susceptible to ailment such as arthritis. Studies have found that CBD may have anti-inflammatory properties and may be able to reduce inflammation and, therefore, pain in the individual that takes it. There definitely needs to be more research done for CBD anti-inflammatory effects on animals, but so far it appears to be quite promising.
There have been a wide range of studies conducted to determine CBD’s ability to potentially reduce the frequency of seizures, especially those associated with epilepsy. The Food and Drug Association (FDA) even approved a CBD-based epilepsy medication called Epidiolex. Additionally, there has been further research on CBD’s ability to reduce the frequency of seizures in dogs with positive results. So, cannabidiol may be a pet relief CBD for seizures as well!
Based off of research conducted and what we know and understand, CBD does not appear to present any life-threatening side effects for animals or humans. As long as you administer it appropriately in the correct dosages, then the risk of using CBD for animals as a pet relief CBD is small. Some side effects are dry mouth and reduce saliva, lowered blood pressure, and drowsiness. As always and as with anything else for your furry friend, be sure to speak to a veterinarian before administering CBD to your animal as a pet relief CBD.
